About Me
Teresa Keating
RGN RM CST & lic.acc I have always had an interest in health. I qualified first as a general nurse and went on to work in Ireland, Scotland and America. During my time in Boston, I trained in the New England School of Shiatsu in Boston Massachusetts graduating in Five Element Style Shiatsu. Shiatsu is a form of bodywork which at its highest level, combines a finely tuned intuition with thorough understanding of the bodymind. As a complete system of healing through touch, it draws extensively on key aspects of Traditional Oriental Medicine. Shiatsu technique involves stretching holding and leaning body weight into various parts of the recipients body to improve energy flow, blood circulation, flexibility and posture. I became interested in Acupuncture while working as a midwife in Scotland and seeing Acupuncture being introduced as a treatment to help women in labour. I went on to study with the College of Medical Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and graduated with distinction. I returned to Ireland and started a private practise in Shiatsu and Acupuncture. I also went on to study Holistic Dietetics and Reflexology. Holistic Dietetics is the study of nutrition and the use of supplements and minerals. It also focuses on where a client might need to make dietary changes to optimise their health. Reflexology deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet which correspond to the glands, organs and other parts of the body. Reflexology is a unique method of using pressure on these reflex areas. I have been in full-time practice with Acupuncture and Shiatsu for over twenty years.
